Speaker Bios
Audio Engineer, Sound Designer
Christopher D. Anderson, C.A.S., is a New England-based audio engineer, sound designer, mixer, sound editor, sound supervisor, and educator. Mr. Anderson has contributed to many award-winning shows and films, working both on set and in post-production. His credits include AMERICAN HUSTLE (Sony), MADAME WEB (Columbia/Marvel), FRONTLINE (PBS, many episodes), NOVA (PBS, many episodes), AMERICAN EXPERIENCE (PBS, multiple episodes), DON’T LOOK UP (Netflix), THE FINEST HOURS (Disney), DETROIT (Annapurna), ACROSS THE PACIFIC (PBS/Lone Wolf), and many others. He is part of the BAFTA and Oscar award-winning team that produced 20 DAYS IN MARIUPOL for the FRONTLINE series on PBS (2024), and has done Emmy Award-winning and nominated work for NOVA and AMERICAN EXPERIENCE. He has taught sound design at Boston University for more than two decades. He has also taught at Boston College, Northeastern University, Berklee College of Music, and lectured at other schools and institutions. His book, Sound Design for the Visual Storyteller, is published by Routledge Press, and just came out in April 2025.
Senior Director of Production Technology, GBH
Tim is an acclaimed film and television producer who has worked as a director, producer, cinematographer, editor and motion picture sound editor. Prior to leading the Production Group at GBH he spent 18 years supervising the production and post-production of more than 350 FRONTLINE documentaries. Tim began his career at Hannah Barbera as a cartoon-character voice editor and went on to work on several motion pictures, including "Star Trek IV," “48 Hours,” “Poltergeist,” and the IMAX film "Behold Hawaii.”
Director, Arts Journalist
Erin Trahan’s background in film has run the gamut from production through exhibition and multi-platform film journalism. For the last two decades she has reported on independent film for outlets such as 90.9 WBUR in Boston, The Boston Globe, MovieMaker Magazine, and others. When The Independent Film & Video Monthly transitioned to an online magazine, she served as its editor for seven years and spearheaded the preservation of the print magazine’s archive. She’s served as faculty in Emerson College’s visual media arts and journalism departments and is a producer on “Impermanence,” a feature documentary about the fleeting nature of art, and “The Lost Village,” which explores the continuum of becoming a mother or not. Prior to journalism, Erin worked in the nonprofit sector in youth advocacy. She served in AmeriCorps and has worked polls on election days. Her creative endeavors also include personal essays and poetry. “Dukakis” is her first nonfiction film.

Jeff Schmidt is an Emmy Award-winning producer at Pulse Media in Watertown, who for a decade served as the program director of Salem Film Fest, one of the largest documentary film festivals in New England. Additionally, he co-produced and edited the documentary feature THE MILLION CALORIE MARCH, which premiered at the Boston Film Festival and won a FREDDIE Award for health and wellness. Jeff also acted as a producer on THE HOUSE WE LIVED IN, a documentary film which screened at Ashland Independent Film Festival, San Francisco DocFest, Independent Film Festival of Boston, Wood's Hole Film Festival and won the award for Best Documentary at the New Hampshire Film Festival.
