Sound Design for the Visual Storyteller

Join audio expert Christopher Anderson, C.A.S., for a conversation on his new book Sound Design for the Visual Storyteller—a practical guide for filmmakers and storytellers on how to elevate the role of sound in visual media. With decades of experience across film, television, and education, Anderson has contributed to many acclaimed productions including American Hustle, Don’t Look Up, Frontline, NOVA, and 20 Days in Mariupol. He generously shares foundational principles, creative techniques, and real-world insights into the sound design process—offering an accessible entry point for filmmakers, editors, and anyone looking to tell stronger visual stories through sound.

Dukakis: Screening + Filmmaker Q&A

We’re proud to present a special screening of Dukakis, a short documentary by co-directors Erin Trahan and Jeff Schmidt. The film offers a timely and deeply human portrait of former Massachusetts Governor and 1988 presidential nominee Michael Dukakis—capturing his quiet leadership, steadfast civic values, and continued public service well into his 80s. From mentoring future leaders to simmering soup in his Brookline kitchen, Dukakis reflects on what it means to serve with integrity at a time when democracy feels increasingly fragile. The 28-minute film will be followed by a Q&A with the filmmakers. dukakisfilm.com
