MPC Summer Updates

Dear Members and Supporters,

As summer moves along, we wanted to share a few highlights from the year so far. It's been a busy first half of 2026, with new programs, partnerships, and events that have brought together filmmakers, crew, students, businesses, and community leaders from across Massachusetts. As we continue celebrating MPC's 20th anniversary, we're grateful to everyone who has helped strengthen our film and media community.

Here's a look at some of what we've been working on together.

Massachusetts on Screen

While 2026 has been a challenging year for large-scale production, audiences continue to enjoy recent projects filmed here in Massachusetts that showcase the exceptional work of the local cast, crew, businesses, and creative professionals who bring these productions to life. We congratulate everyone involved in these outstanding productions!

Widow's Bay (Apple TV+) – One of the year's biggest success stories, earning widespread acclaim and 19 Emmy nominations, the most-nominated new series of the 2026 season.

The Drama (A24) – Released this spring, bringing another high-profile A24 production filmed in Massachusetts to audiences worldwide.

The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 3 (AMC / AMC+) – Premiering in July, the hit franchise returns with another season of zombie-filled action.

Super Troopers 3 (Searchlight Pictures) — Opening in theaters this Friday, the beloved cult comedy franchise returns with more mustaches, mayhem, and questionable police work.

Tony (A24) – Also opening this Friday, the Provincetown-set film depicting a transformative summer in Anthony Bourdain's life has earned outstanding early reviews and widespread critical acclaim.

Connecting Our Community

From hands-on training and professional development to networking and industry conversations, MPC's programs continue to bring Massachusetts' film and media community together. Highlights from the year so far include our Winter and Spring Meetings, Camera Bootcamp, AI Roundtable, Student Film Showcase with IFFBoston, Live Table Read of What They Left Us with SAG-AFTRA New England, PA Workshop, Summer Social, and more—all creating opportunities to learn, connect, and collaborate.

Investing in the Next Generation

This July, MPC partnered with Emerson College to expand our Summer Film Camp program, welcoming high school students from Madison Park Technical Vocational High School, East Boston High School, TechBoston Academy, Swampscott High School, and Cambridge Rindge & Latin School for a week of immersive, hands-on filmmaking.

Working in Emerson's Paramount soundstage and production facilities, students learned camera, lighting, directing, editing, and production skills under the guidance of faculty and industry professionals before screening their completed projects for family and friends at the end of the week.
