Momentum, Community, and What’s Next. A Look Ahead as MPC Celebrates 20 Years!

Dear MPC Members and Supporters,

As we move through the first weeks of 2026, we want to take a moment to thank you for your participation in MPC and for all the ways you show up for this community through your engagement and commitment.

Thankfully, 2025 brought renewed momentum to filming in Massachusetts. We were thrilled to have a number of major productions land in the Commonwealth, with films and series from leading studios and platforms including AMC, Apple TV+, Netflix, A24, and a strong number of independent producers and production companies.

As the industry continues to recalibrate globally, our focus at MPC has remained steady: creating space for connection, shared learning, and practical resources for people working across the field. With your help, in 2025 we delivered more than 17 unique programs and events, engaging over 1,800 film and media professionals, students, and emerging filmmakers across Massachusetts. That's a lot of impact!

From quarterly Member Meetings and professional workshops to workforce development programs like Camera Bootcamp, Editors Bootcamp, and the PA Workshop, your involvement has been central to this work. We strive for MPC to be a reliable hub that supports learning, collaboration, and career sustainability across different phases of industry careers.

This year also marks MPC’s 20th Anniversary! It’s a moment to recognize the many individuals, companies, and organizations who have helped shape this community over the past two decades. Throughout 2026, we’ll take a little time here and there to recognize that history while staying focused on what comes next, ensuring MPC remains responsive to the industry we serve.

We also continue to grow our student and early-career programming, including the Student Film Showcase (at Independent Film Festival Boston), the Student Media Summit developed by MPC’s Higher Education Consortium, and the new Summer Film Camp with Emerson College. Together, these programs strengthen early career pathways and reinforce the connection between education and industry practice.

Looking forward, we’re excited about the range of programs planned for 2026 – from expanding workforce development offerings to new conversations, workshops, and opportunities to bring the community together as production activity continues to grow and evolve.

We’re also sharing our annual Member & Program Attendee Survey and would really value your input. Your feedback helps shape our program priorities, advocacy, and how we serve the community moving forward.
