Intellectual Property

Tuesday, Nov 12th @ Hill Holliday

Intellectual property is a category of property that includes intangible creations of the human intellect. Any questions? We thought so..

IP is protected in law by, for example, patents, copyright and trademarks, which enable people to earn recognition or financial benefit from what they invent or create.

In this IP workshop for content – we’ll cover what to look out for from the time concepts are reviewed thru post production, the pitfalls can be many. Our Business Affairs experts will talk about how a concept is presented to avoid infringement, identifying ownership rights, and tricks-of-the-trade for obtaining permissions. We’ll point out what to be aware of and watch out for on set (wardrobe, props, locations, etc) – how to manage corrections in post when issues arise, and the scrutiny that advertising and social media bring into play.
