Whether you are embarking on a career in the field or seeking to strengthen your existing skills, this workshop will be a truly invaluable opportunity to learn and expand your network with local camera professionals.
Program Outline
Session 1: The Fundamentals of On Set Roles
Gain a comprehensive understanding of on-set roles and responsibilities, ranging from the DP and Camera Operator to 1st AC, 2nd AC, Loader, and Utility. During the first part of the day, we will cover essential responsibilities for each role, offering insights from prep to wrap. Additionally, we will explore set etiquette and terminology commonly used in the field.
Session 2: Breakout Demos
Participants will rotate through 3 breakout sessions in smaller groups, engaging in hands-on demos related to tasks and equipment used by the 1st AC, 2nd AC, Loader, and Utility. Dive deeper into setting up cameras and accessories, handling lenses and filters, marking actors, slating, managing media, working with wireless video, and more.
Session 3: Career Panel and Q&A
Conclude the day with a dynamic discussion featuring experienced camera crew members. Topics will include career paths, safety on set, job rates, and an opportunity for attendees to ask their burning questions.
