The Secret Society of Black Creatives

The SSBC is a new community organization that works to promote and empower content creators and media makers of color through networking, education, and job referrals. We'll hear from SSBC board members Valdimir Minuty, Nerissa Williams, and Evelyn Brito about SSBC's efforts to amplify diverse voices, increase exposure to the industry, and how to get involved. 

CJS Workshop | Rob Saunders

CJS Workshop is a premier Puppet and Costume Design/Fabrication & Maintenance Studio dedicated to the themed entertainment and advertising industries.

Relocating to Mass in 2021 and now growing their shop in Groton – we'll hear from owner and puppeteer Rob Saunders about their work, capabilities, and building a team of artists, puppeteers, fabricators, and craftspeople to serve some the biggest entertainment companies in the world.

Diego Ongaro | Writer/Director, Down With the King

Following Bob and the Trees (2015), Down With the King (2022) is writer/director Diego Ongaro’s second feature film exploring rural life and identity set in Western Massachusetts using a combination of amateur and professional talent.

Down With the King, starring rapper Freddie Gibbs, premiered at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival (ACID section), won the top prize at the Deauville Film Festival, and was released worldwide by Sony Pictures in 2022. New York Times critic’s AO Scott named the film one of the top ten best films of 2022 and named Gibbs’ performance as one of the top ten performance that year in the NY Times Magazine.

Down With the King is available to rent on all major platforms.
